Stick Up : Representational Art 2

''Stick Up'' a play on the name which means to rob at gunpoint. At the surface this all seems like a playful take and a play of words, you know, glue ''gun'' and glue sticks, stick up, gunpoint. You get the idea. But during the course of this pandemic we have all faced the task of finding something to keep us busy. Well for the artists, its taking on various, usually utterly useless little projects that eat up ample time. With the use of, hold on, you guessed it, a glue gun.

The topic of this painting tackles beyond the art itself. Art is in a way a weapon, a medium to get our ideas out there, to make a statement, to dethrone a dictator or really just about anything. Art are artists' way of connecting to the world, a spearhead perhaps. The artist wanted to highlight the tools that enable us to do art, those that free us and just lets us create without boundaries, stretching until the ends of our imagination.

However, don't let the appreciation of these tools shackle us from creating. We are not limited by the tools we have, that why seemingly the gun spurts our cloud like figures, a representation of  our drifiting imagination, consequently, this signifies that we are not limited to what our tools are capable of, it is only the stretch of our imagination that limits us from creating what we want.
